RICCARDO RIGHI

Research Fellow

I was born in 1985 in Modena (Italy) and I studied at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy). Here, firstly I obtained a Bachelor Degree in Economics and Social Sciences and then I obtained a Master Degree in Public Policy Evaluation. For the Bachelor Degree I wrote a thesis regarding Amartya Sen's capability approach (director Professor Antonella Picchio), while for the Master Degree I focused my attention in evaluating graduates' employability in Region Emilia Romagna, Italy (final vote 110/110 cum laude, director Professor Enrico Giovannetti). During the second year of the Master degree I won a scholarship for the attendance of a three months course regarding Social Entrepreneurship at the Arizona State University (AZ, USA). In 2012 I started a PhD course (with scholarship) in Economics and Statistics at the University of Bologna (Italy). In June 2016 I became PhD with a thesis regarding complex network and community detection analysis in the context of regional public policies supporting the development of innovation processes among local firms (director Professor Cristina Brasili and co-director Professor Margherita Russo). 

I am a member of CAPP (Centro di Analisi delle Politiche Pubbliche) of University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and a junior member of SIS (Società Italiana di Statistica). Currently I am a research fellow at the Joint Research Center of the European Commission in the Digital Economy Unit (B6).
